There\u2019s a gap. This is it, filled.<\/h2>\n

Ebeltoft is a genuinely wonderful place to live, visit and put down roots. In fact, we\u2019re seeing more people move here from all over \u2013 and many, like myself, end up returning after years away.<\/p>\n

But for newcomers and English-speaking visitors, navigating a small Danish town isn\u2019t always straightforward. Many find themselves staring at Danish websites they can\u2019t quite understand, trying to work out what\u2019s on this weekend, how childcare and schools work, or which areas are best to live in. If you\u2019ve ever been in that situation, you know why Hello Ebeltoft exists.<\/p>\n

For English speakers, much of the practical information, local news and everyday community life is locked behind a language barrier. Hello Ebeltoft is here to open that up.<\/p>\n

Who\u2019s behind it<\/h2>\n

I\u2019m a journalist with more than ten years\u2019 experience working and living in London. I was born and raised here, left in my teenage years, and came back \u2013 this time with my English husband and children in tow.<\/p>\n

Watching him settle into life in Ebeltoft gave me a front-row seat to something I\u2019d never had to consider before: how hard it is to build a life somewhere when you don\u2019t speak the language. Not just the practicalities \u2013 the admin, the appointments, the paperwork \u2013 but the slower, quieter challenge of finding your people. Of feeling like you belong somewhere, rather than simply existing in it.<\/p>\n

Moving somewhere new is hard. Moving to a new country, in a different language and culture, where much of daily life happens just beyond your reach, is something else entirely. Community doesn\u2019t just appear. You have to find it, or build it. A Copenhagen Post article once highlighted how difficult networking can be for expats \u2013 and even for Danes returning home after years away. I recognise that feeling.<\/p>\n

Hello Ebeltoft is my attempt to help \u2013 both practically and personally.<\/p>\n

My journalism background brings editorial rigour to everything published here. But it\u2019s personal and warm too, because that\u2019s how this town works. Ebeltoft isn\u2019t a big city. It\u2019s a place where people know each other. Hello Ebeltoft should feel the same way.<\/p>\n
